KARACHI: The former Pakistan skipper and wicketkeeper batsman Rahsid Latif has also joined the hottest debate in the country about incompetent wicket keeper Kamran Akmal and his performance behind the stumps during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.
“It doesn’t surprise me anymore when Kamran Akmal drops catches, rather I’m surprised when once in a blue-moon he starts taking catches,” said Rashif Latif.
The current cricket coach of Afghanistan cricket team Rashid Latif, who was talking to media after inaugurating the local cricket tournament here in Karachi said, “Pakistan cricket team performed well in the tournament but unfortunately they failed to perform in the match against New Zealand. The last four overs were really a shocker for Pakistan cricket lovers. Our openers have consistently failed to perform and it is up to team management to take big decisions now.”
“Our aim isn’t to criticize our team. We only want to give them suggestion and it is up to team management whether they are ready for making more experiments in the mega event. The cricket lovers in Pakistan only want to see their team win matches,” he added.
“We have witnessed some very good matches in the first round of world cup but the big matches will start from the quarter finals,” Latif said.
