LIVE INDIA VS. NETHERLANDS: HOLLAND STEADY AGAINST MEN IN BLUE AFTER 25 OVERS

LIVE India vs. Netherlands: Holland steady against Men in Blue after 25 overs
Netherlands got off to a steady start in their match of the ICC World Cup 2011 against India being played at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi, India.
The Dutch team had scored 84 runs for the loss of 2 wickets after 25 overs.
The pitch was excellent for batting and a high scoring game was expected. Dutch captain Peter Borren won the toss and elected to bat first. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, captain of the Indian team, also claimed that he would have batted first considering the nature of the wicket.
Eric Szwarczynski and the wicketkeeper batsman Wesley Barresi started the innings for the visitors confidently, as the pair struck a few boundaries at the start of their innings.
However, the flow of runs was stopped by the Indian spinners. Szwarczynski was the first man to be dismissed after he had scored 28 runs off 42 balls. He gave a solid 56-run stand to his team along with Barresi.
The opening batsman would have liked to carry onto the start and make a big score for his team, but he was undone by a wrong one by Piyush Chawla.
Tom Cooper walked out in the middle to make the most of the start given by the openers. However, he lost Barresi from the other end, who was also unable to capitalise on the start. The wicketkeeper batsman scored 26 runs from 58 balls.
Barresi’s wicket brought Ryan ten Doeschate at the crease, who amassed a brilliant century earlier in the tournament against England. Both ten Doeschate and Cooper batted sensibly and held things together for their team until the end of 25 overs. They were unbeaten on 5 and 19 respectively.
The pair will be looking forward to play steadily for at least 10 more overs, and then use the long handle in the final overs. However, it will be a tough ask for the visitors as India have some quality spinners in their team.
Both wickets to fall in the Netherlands innings were taken by spinners, Piyush Chawla and Yuvraj Singh. They will be eying to take a few more wickets as the Dutch team has the potential to score a big total just like they did against England.
